Gifts should be shared

Despite the fact that I live a very isolated existence (partly because of living 60 miles outside of the nearest major city and partly because being a full-time Mom doesn’t leave time for a social life), I’m constantly amazed at the close friends I’ve made across the country. They may not be near, but they are very, very dear.

Every now and then, one of my friends creates a special gift for me. Since my friends are almost ALL bigfoot researchers (GRIN), I usually get bigfoot-related gifts. Which I LOVE. I wanted to share them with you.

Oregon Bigfoot Investigator Jason Moore is one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever seen (you can watch his drumming chops here and here), and just an incredible human being.

For my birthday, he made me a gift – spent three days, in fact, crafting this amazing sculpture out of sheet metal. It’s a one-of-a-kind and I was FLOORED when I saw it.

He modeled it after the very talented Scott Davis‘ Moonlit Walk piece. (Scott Davis is the official OB artist – and one of my best friends in the world – who did all of the artwork for the documentary, which makes this piece all the more special to me.)

At night, I can turn on the light. The moon and red eyes glow with an eerie beauty.

It’s proudly hanging on my kitchen wall and I light it up every night… and smile. Thank you, Jason, for such a heartfelt gift. The bigfoot silhouette looks amazing… and the moon? That makes it just right. :)

It’s touching when someone uses their unique talents to create something special and those are the gifts that mean so much.

And thanks, everyone, for letting me share my Bigfoot gift with you. I figured if anyone would appreciate it, it’d be you guys and gals! *grin*
