Help!

You might think that having daycare on Tuesday and Wednesday would make it EASIER to sit down and blog. You’d think.

I’m sorry the blog has disappeared the last few days… I’ve been working on a bunch of back-end administrative stuff. Stuff that has waited and can’t wait anymore. It doesn’t show up anywhere on the site, but it’s necessary, unfortunately.

I need your advice. Please.  Or maybe your help. Or perhaps just some patience. *grin*

I don’t really know when OregonBigfoot got so big that I couldn’t handle it alone anymore. I think it’s just crept up on me in the last few years. Right now, I’m juggling the blog, the members’ section, members’ forum, and hundreds of emails a week in addition to dealing with all of the crazy stuff that comes up when I least expect it.

This is a picture of the lower left-hand corner of my email box.

In addition, I’ve added a new back-end for investigators recently in order to try to get reports to those who can investigate them. I’ve also got an amazing, dedicated guy helping to get reports published to the public database so they’re available for your perusal (thanks, Bill!). The good news is, it’s going well. The bad news is, it’s more to juggle and I can’t seem to find the time to sit down and move forward with additional investigators.

I’ve also got to get back to working on Part 2 of the documentary. That’s a 3-6 month project by itself, but I can’t seem to get caught up enough to set the time aside to do it.

Finally, I’m in the process of working on two other sizable projects that I can’t discuss at the moment. I wish I could, because then maybe people would stop thinking I’m sitting on my thumb. *grin*

I’m a full-time Mom. One load of laundry generally takes me three days to wash, dry and fold. The dishes in my sink? They’ve been soaking since Monday. Well, half of them. I managed to wash the other half at some point and drained the cold, icky water off of these. But there they sit, while I sit here behind the computer and try to figure out WHERE TO START. The things I have to do can’t be accomplished in a day, or even a week. Some are ongoing and never make it off the “to-do” list. The others are concentration-heavy and require commitment.

It’s 2:55 and I haven’t eaten yet today. The oven’s pre-heated, but I’m blogging instead of sticking a frozen pizza in. Somehow, I managed to eat enough to gain 2 lbs. this week. (I’m now a whopping 112. WOO-HOO!)

So here’s your chance to sound off, my friends. Where do I start? What should I focus on? What do you want to see? More media in the members archives? Shall I take the blog down to once a week and get busy on the documentary? More investigators working the unpublished stuff int he database? These other projects I’m working on (one’s a book project)… should I focus on those? Where would YOU like me to focus my time and energy? Do I need to give you a more specific list and you guys and gals can make suggestions about what you’d like to see first?

Several folks have offered direct assistance, but delegation takes time and I don’t know what I’d be able to delegate. There really isn’t anything anyone can DO to help, short of moving in and answering emails, or cooking the pizza that’s still sitting on the stove, thawing out. *grin* (Actually, come to think of it, I could use a “wife”…)

I really don’t want to be sitting here spinning my wheels, feeling overwhelmed. I’ve got so many great things I want to share with all of you… I JUST DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START.

Got any ideas?

Your feedback and suggestions are welcome and appreciated as always.
