7 foot tall Russian boxer searches for Sasquatch

Generally, the only sport you’ll catch me watching is UFC. I admit it. I like it. Maybe it’s because there are so few rules and it’s easy to follow. Of course, I liked it better when there were fewer rules, when the winner went straight on to the next fight, when the fighters rarely cross-trained… and when Royce Gracie was allowed to wrap his prehensile toes into the chain-link of the octagon and wriggle out of a full guard.

A new documentary, some bigfoot news, blogs I like…

Today’s blog will be a smattering of stuff that finds its way to my desk.

A new documentary

A friend sent me this the other day…

Remember Adrian Erickson? No? Alrighty then. Here’s a brief rundown, as I understand it. I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest, uber-condensed version.

Adrian Erickson is a money guy with an interest in Bigfoot. He worked with the BFRO initially, though not anymore, as I understand it. An initial report came through the BFRO of a habituation in Kentucky. They went to work on site. Some video footage was obtained. It was purported to show a bigfoot on stationary video, eating pancakes. The footage was shown briefly on Cryptomundo, until legal threats were made. You can read the poop about that here. Craig pulled it down.

What are the odds?

My buddy Tommy, an incredibly sharp guy (or perhaps just a really big bigfoot movie geek – love you, man) just emailed me a while ago after reading my last blog entry. Tommy, if you’ll remember, is the guy who first noticed that the first set of photos published on Ballyhoo were actually reversed stills from the old Ron Olson 70′s bigfoot docudrama, Sasquatch, The Legend of Bigfoot, directed by Ed Raggozino.

Well, Tommy was watching the film again last night and guess what? He found something… interesting.

Something stinks… and it ain’t bigfoot

OK. I’m almost done with this mess.

This wouldn’t be such an issue if:

A) I hadn’t spent so much time and gas money following up on these reported local sightings

B) Linda would come clean or the real Bill Emery would please stand up

C) This wasn’t happening right here in my backyard AND

D) I didn’t hate the smell of fish

See, there’s a bunch of fishiness going on over at Ballyhoo, and Linda apparently has no interest in getting to the bottom of it. I, however, do., if only for the reasons mentioned above. Stick with me, if you can handle the smell of fish.

New bigfoot photos? Or a bunch of… Ballyhoo?

I’ve bit my tongue until it’s bled. Sorry… can’t do it anymore.

Apparently, there has been quite an uproar for some time now regarding some purported Bigfoot photos taken by a team of little-known bigfoot researchers near Sru Lake here in Oregon.

It all began several weeks ago, when a local gal by the name of Linda Newton Perry (she lives a stone’s throw down the road from me, if you’re throwing rural stones) began reporting on her blog, Bigfoot Ballyhoo, that a team of field researchers led by a man named Bill Emery had captured “clear and compelling” images of a Sasquatch.

Huh?

This blurb from The Register Citizen, a newspaper “serving Litchfield, CT”, really had me scratching my head.

It was posted in amongst a bunch of other junk. I guess it’s along the lines of a letter to the editor.

Again… HUH?

Is Yeti back?

The reports and witness accounts of the presence of Yeti in Torrington are growing. It is most likely Sasquatch, or Bigfoot as it is more commonly known.

The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is allegedly an ape-like cryptid said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet.

Bigfoot have mastered concealment in the forests.

Bigfoot “spotted” at Ross Island

[Editor's note: This article made absolutely NO sense to me at first, because there was no photo or video attached. I finally found another article about it with a photo. Apparently, there is a faux-fur covered "bigfoot" statue on Ross Island... no one knows who built it, but it was first spotted over Labor Day weekend.]

PORTLAND, Ore. — For decades we’ve trekked the depths of our world’s forests following sightings and reports of a giant beast; part ape, part human. Now the trek ends here.
