I have vivid memories of the sasquatch. I grew up in the shadow of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains and was enthralled by the reports of sightings of an enormous bipedal creature in the Kootenay Plains wilderness region near Banff National Park. I was part of a group of kids that regularly fished with our fathers in that area in the late 1960s, and I remember casting our lines in the twilight hours and listening to our fathers discuss the most recent “Bigfoot” sightings they had heard on the radio or read in newspapers. I was 12 years old, and the prospects of a hairy monster stalking the mountains where our families went camping thrilled and terrified me.

I’ve uploaded a 10-minute video blog comparing 11 different purported bigfoot scream recordings from my files.

I also give some background on the recordings. Some of these you may have heard. Several of them have never been shared before now.

The comparison shows the similarities I noticed in many of these recordings long ago. Despite the fact that the recording dates range from 1973 – 2009, with several hundred miles in between in some cases, they all appear to represent a similar creature making the vocalizations. A compilation at the end of the blog, with one scream taken from each recording, presents a powerful illustration of the similarities.

Sasquatches aren’t blue. Right?

I had a conversation years ago with Doug Hajicek, producer of MonsterQuest and Mysterious Encounters, about indigo dye in gorilla suits. Doug felt that the presence of indigo coloring in the hair on any purported Bigfoot photograph was a dead giveaway that the subject was a guy in a guit.

It sounded like a good theory. Trouble is, the photos that he was referring to at the time weren’t so easy for me to discount.

Rob Kryder of Kryder Explorations has been in touch with me off and on for many years. Recently, he asked me to take a look at some footage he has released that he obtained in 1995.

Bigfoot roaming San Antonio? It MAY be possible!

Police in San Antonio, as well as local TV stations, have been getting calls about bizarre sightings.

The callers told the NBC affiliate WOAI that they saw a large, hairy, bigfoot-type creature around San Antonio’s west side.

Much of the general public doesn’t believe in bigfoot. Thanks to a lack of education about the subject, media sensationalism and tongue-in-cheek reporting, many Americans are still under the assumption that there’s just one. As if it’s the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. It’s a great, big, hairy joke.
