REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: In the summer of '90 our construction company was contracted to build the Yankee Fork Interpretive Center in Challis, Idaho. So our personal time was spent exploring new and excellent fishing spots.
When I married in august that year we decided to honeymoon at my favorite of such places. We were camped in the small peninsula on the north side of the lake for 4 nights. It was on the fourth evening the event occurred, at which time we left in quite a hurry.
The previous day we spent exploring the south side of the lake where there is an old indian brick kiln used in the late 1800's as well as the hillside on that side as well where we found many crystals. My wife said she had a creepy feeling the whole time we were on the hill looking for crystals. Said we were being watched. I told her later that I had the same feeling.
In the very early morning about 2 or 3 my dog was very upset and whining about something and would not stop. This concerned me because I had never seen him so shaken up about anything in the woods including bears. After a short time of listening closely we heard something moving around across the lake in and around the piles of bricks.
Then there was a splash in the lake not far from our tent. This happened about 12 times and each time about 3 to 5 seconds before the splash it sounded like someone picking up a brick on the other side of the lake. We left in quite a hurry and my wife had my machete in her hand as I rolled up the tent with everything in it in about 15 seconds. Oh and one more thing, the brick kiln was about 200 yards from our tent. I can throw a brick 10 yards maybe?
