Location: My dad and I were elk hunting; we usually camp at Maxwell Snow Park just off the road to the Maxwell Butte Trailhead.
REPORT DETAIL
Description of event: My dad and I just woke up; it was elk season in high cascades. We were tent camped at Maxwell Snow Park not far from the Maxwell Butte Trailhead. We both were laying in our cots trying to get the gumption to get up (as it was cold) and start breakfast. This was early morning around 4:00 am. We heard a long strange howl in distance. We both knew instantly that is was not a coyote or a wolf. We brain stormed what it could of been as we ate our breakfast, we never came up with a reasonable answer. Unexplained howl could have been a big foot.
