Outside of my friend`s log cabin. Right side of road just past 3 mile marker
South of Applegate Lake.
Sounds came from the ridge east of NF-1050
Description of event: Yes it`s been many years since this happened.
But it did happen.
I was outside with Joe on his porch, when we heard these strange howling type sounds.
I asked him what they were, since I did not spend that much time in the mountains. Especially at night. The only light was from inside his cabin.
He very calmy said "bigfoot".
Of course I had heard of bigfoot, growing up in southern Oregon. It only lasted for a few minutes, but was enough for me to want to go back inside.
Joe said not to worry, they won`t bother you.
He also said he had heard them many times before.
I had known joe for only about a year, but I knew he was not the type for making things up. He was always a very honest and no bull sh*t kind of person. I go up there once in awhile when I`m in town, now living in So. California.
Lots of memories of my youth and the strange noises I heard that night. Joe has long disappeared, but the cabin is still there. I believe it is now owned by BLM. It was built in 1929 by Joe`s grandparents.
Elliot Creek runs thru the west end of this property.
