This is a rural residential area all 5 acre lots heavily wooded with conifers and native hardwoods and lots of mast producing brush.
Description of event: I was out in my yard working on a fence when I heard a whooping type sound coming from the property directly north of me. It was not a bird or other animal that I have heard before. It sounded like a howler monkey at the zoo only not as loud. It was 3 short whoops. I noticed my horses were unusually active and vocal also looking in the direction of the sounds.
