Bigfoot filmed in IMAX?

Apparently, a Sasquatch may have been caught on IMAX film during the filming of the 2006 movie,  “Great North”.

The entire film is available for viewing at Hulu.com at no charge. The figure in question appears at around the 9:20 mark, as a herd of caribou charge along the river bank.

To view the film in the highest definition possible, click here, choose the “Watch in High Res” option on the lower right corner, then click the “Full Screen” option on the upper right. You can then forward the film to about the 9:10 mark and wait for it to buffer. As the herd moves to the right, keep your eye on the lower right quadrant of your screen. You’ll see a black, upright figure pop up, run hunched over from left to right in a small gully, and hunker down. Interestingly, if you watch the clip carefully, a smaller group of caribou appears to be running OUT of that gully at full speed.

Here is a lower resolution YouTube video of the event. (The Hulu video is much clearer and in context… I recommend viewing that as well.)

The BFRO was notified by someone who caught it while viewing the film and is apparently attempting to make contact with the producer to inquire about the footage. The footage is interesting and appears that it may very well a Sasquatch. However, how much additional detail is ultimately available remains to be seen. You can read more about that here.

No… I won’t be attempting to chase down the footage personally. Matt Moneymaker tends to be pretty persistent  – and proprietary, as I’ve learned from experience – when he catches wind of photo or video evidence and decides to pursue it. So I’ll leave this one to him.

I’ve got my own fish to fry. And you know what they say:

Too many cooks… ;)
