Too me it moves and looks like the Werewolf from the movie "American Werewolf in London". It defintely moves in a very predatory manner but with a weird unknown movement especially when it zigzags.

By the way, I wanted to clarify something; I wasn't saying that I thought it was a gorilla, it just moves like one of the ape family, especially in the first sighting of him.

One other thing that has been bothering me is the way it gets up to start running towards the photographer; and why is the camera being "ate" when the boy is running away? It is as if he turned around right when the creature got to him and gave the camera as a shield maybe? And if the animal got the camera in his/her mouth, than why wasn't it thrown? It looks as if it was just merely placed down..."put" down?

Just some other things that keep coming up with all the "other" things that are bothering me about this film.

Darn, Autumn, you got me hooked now...lol.

Sincerely,

Connie

PS...I just wanted to make a statement about the "torso" in the second film. As you have already pointed out, "No defense wounds." But with that said, I have come across cougar kills and did not see any defense whatsoever. The kill was quick and clean. No blood splatter, no fight marks around the ground where the attack took place, and even the eaten parts of the body showed very little blood. The neck was where the cougar got its victim and that was that. Very quickly and cleanly done. And the victim was a 400 pound cow elk. Just think what one would do to a small boy and a mother. And I am talking about a known animal, the cougar. Not saying that the creature in the Gable Film is a cougar...just stating some of my own thoughts.

Hello Autumn:

Something else has been "tugging" at me since I have been viewing this film; it is the part right after the boy is seen in the pick-up mirror; the camera moves over to the drivers side and than back out the window. Just a bit after that is when I first see the animal; it moves side ways like a gorilla might. And than later the film is focusd on the creature AFTER the pick-up is stopped. I haven't heard anyone comment on this part of the film and was wondering if it was indeed the same creature. I am sure it is.

I am still working out the details to my other thoughts...one thing for sure it is a woman chopping wood. Well, my thought anyway.

Sincerely,
Connie

this is wierd because it has the shap and size and a garilla but does not move like one but garilla's dont live this far up and if one were to get out at that time to find it out in the woods like that would be very unreal and at the end when he is kill the size of the mouth is too big for a bear. So it has the size of a bear doest move like one though has too long of ears and a dog like mouth. I hav seen this film all of 10 time in the last hour and because of it age my geuss is something not known.

I got the camera make. It raises more questions. It was a Bell and Howell autoload 8mm "Animation" camera. Perfect for stop motion. The kind of camera you may give an inspiering film maker. I will look further for the year it was created, and what is used for.

Autumn,
I'm 54 years old and have been following the idea of Bigfoot since I was a little boy and my Dad use to tell me stories of his adventures in the field. I was raised a hunter/fisherman/camper, we would rather go camping on the week ends than go in town to the movies. I've had two such bumps with a animal that I cannot identify here in South Florida. More on that later.
I watched the Gable film. Showed it to my dad. He said the same thing that I was thinking. It has ears and for a split second you get the faint impression that it has a muzzule. It's the shoulders that throw me. Bears that I've seen don't have shoulders like a linebacker, and your indian friend is right, it zigged. I've never seen that before. It is deffenitly an animal. It moves ape like. But the ears and muzzule throw me.
Keep up the good work. looking forward to reading your letters. Bob B.

Soon I will get the nerve to tell you of my encounters.

Hi Autumn,
I have to say that I'm unclear about the animal in the footage and I must add that I'm no expert. Either way, I do think it is an animal, and I would bet my bottom dollar that it is either a ape/type animal, or a cross between a dog and an ape! It sure is interesting. The back legs do not look like a bears. They look longer than the front legs, but abnormally so.

I went as far at trying to get a timeline - using all objects for reference -
Snowmobiles - One green john deer 400 (1972)
Snowmobiles - one yellow (possible) skidoo (circa 1965-1966)
truck - ford pickup - 1969 ford f100 (considerable rust)
police car - 1974 dodge monaco
here's where I get stumped - The camera! I have torn up the web trying to find that camera. I have checked for: 16mm/9.5mm/8mm/single 8mm/ and super8mm. I do believe this was the camera used - as it was seen in the passenger mirror of the truck while driving.

What does bother me, is what it doesn't show. The person cutting wood appears to avoid getting their face on camera. The boy (aaron gable) can be seen for a frame or two in the truck mirror, which I find curious. Its as if he doesn't want to be seen. Personaly, I myself get a kick out of watching myself film myself in the mirror, I would assume a young kid would as well.

Regardless - one key factor is the police uniform. I think this is a definate officer and NOT a DNR Conservation Officer. It appears that everyone is trying to get to the bottom of this. Good luck to us all!

Connie,

I know you have a lot of experience and would love it if you'd share your thoughts. I value all opinions and am interested in hearing what you have to say, as I'm sure others are. (I tend to lean one direction or another, but you'll find that I rarely lean so hard that when the position falls, I go with it. *grin*) Please feel free to post away. While we can't know anything for sure about this film, it's got its teeth into me (so to speak - ha!) and I want to get to the bottom of it!
