Description of event: At Crabtree Creek (T10S R1W, OR) Francis and his friend had killed two
bull elk and had to carry them one at a time for a mile (no date given).
They came back for the second one 2-3 hours later, and noted that all the
hair had been pulled off from one leg...from the outside hind leg, a pile of
the hair nearby. Jim Hewkin reported to Francis that he had seen this before
in the Coast Range, but it was a puzzle as to why. In the same area a year
ago he had found a deer that had been shot, and the guts had been pulled out
and were hanging high in a tree, over a limb.
