Description of event: Occurred on the dirt road called Old Stage, 4 miles up the mountain from where pavement begins. observed: My ex-husband and his highschool friend had stalled their Ford Mustang in the mountains after apparently hitting a tree in the after noon on a fall weekend. It was clear out, yet the weather was turning cooler. It may have been in September on a weekend. It was just the two of them, so after not being able to get the car started, and with no cell phone, they had no choice but to start walking. They had maybe 20 miles to go, and it was getting late, so they started to jog down the dirt rd. Luckily it was all down hill for the most part. My ex's friend was thinner and faster so he pulled ahead after a while and kept jogging. My ex had started to walk. After walking and jogging for about 3 hours his friend, a big tough guy, in leather, and chains, long hair etc..came jogging around a bend and heard a screeching howling sound. He froze in his tracks. The color drained from his face. He looked up to the right and saw about 150 feet up the shadow of a dark hairy beast sitting on the rock outcropping. He dared not move. He quietly sat down on the berm on the side of the road that the road plows make. It was silent and then he heard nothing and it had not seen him. He was shaking and scared, when my ex rounded the bend and found him sitting by the left hand side of the road. Hisfriend motioned for him to come over quick and be quiet. My ex did not believe him though and wasn't too quiet and said "Come on let's get going into town." It was then theat they both looked up the right side of the mountain as something huge was crashing through the brush at them. They both stood there and didn't move. The hairy thing came down the sand scree and onto the dirt road. It was walking quickly at them and then at fifteen feet it veered left, baring it's large teeth and ran and jumped off the other side of the road straight down at probley a ninety degree angle. It crashed on through the brush and was gone. It was approximatly 7 feet tall, appeared to be a male, as no breasts were seen and it was dark brownish-red. It had a huge jaw and sharp black piercing eyes. When it bared it's teeth it was obvious that it knew that it was superior in strength and was warning them to get lost, which they promptly did. The friend of my ex's never wanted to go back up there again.
