Description of event: This is the second of TWO encouters. I was squirrel hunting on a quiet fall evening....one of those evenings when everything is at peace. Suddenly, there was a commotion to the right of me. From the underbrush, three deer came running. I thought, maybe someone scared them. Everything suddenly came to a dead calm. About 15 minutes later, from the same area, I heard trees breaking, brush snapping, and then three blackish-brown hairy creatures appeared moving in an upright quick gate. One was tall, possibly 7-8 ft. and the other two were smaller, approximately 5-6 ft. in height. At first, they didn't notice me sitting at the base of a tree. They proceeded to run about 50 yards from me then stopped at an old dead tree. They pushed the tree over and began digging through the rotted timber. At that point, I was scared to death, just watching them. They turned ....I don't think they saw me, but I feel they sensed or smelled my presence. At that point, they took off frantically, making noises that still leave me uncertain of what I actually heard. They disappeared across railroad tracks where, my brother was hunting also. He too, encountered the creatures substanciating my story fully. This was the second encounter......the first being several years earlier. Two things I realized that were in common with both of the sightings is railroad tracks were present in both instances.
