REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: It was deer season 2002, we hunt at the dead end of a logging road in Superior National Forest. We have hunted in that exact spot for the last 15 years or so. As we pulled into our parking spot we noticed a skid loaded had been down the road and had proceeded deeper into the woods past our camping site. We hunt out of a 27 foot travel trailer and the nearest town is about 30 miles away. On the Saturday night of the opener I was awaken by a shaking of the trailer. I grapped my flashlight to see if any of my other two partners were up, but they were both in bed. After a few seconds the shaking stopped. At breakfast the next morning I mentioned the incident and "J" said he had been awaken by the shaking as well.

That Sunday afternoon while sitting in my deer stand I smelled a very strong and foul odor. The smell lasted about one minute and it was gone. It was like something had passed up wind from me. I have hunted that area for over 30 years and have never smelled anything like that.

I thought no more about the two incidents until the ride home when another member of my gang commented on a terrible odor he had smelled in the woods on Monday. It was then that we started putting things together and started thinking about bigfoot.

Once back at work I met a guy who lived up in that area, after I told him where we hunt, he asked if I had encounter the Minnesota Bigfoot and that there are numerous reports in that area. I checked the internet, there are.
