Description of event: This was not the first time our family had similar incidents occur. Early morning during an elk hunting trip I was going across the top of split creek ridge and had the eerie feeling that I was being watched, shortly later I heard an almost indescribable sound like a low gutterall yell, which occured several times. Both my father and Grandfather have experienced the same type of occurance from the early Fifties until the latest in October 2003. I have grown up in the Idaho wilderness and can be certain this was not a mountain lion in chase, an elk bugle, nor a moose, all of which are common in the area.
