REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: Several months after Mt. St.Helens blew up I was squirrel hunting in a remote forest in the Ohio Power Recreation lands in Noble county Ohio. My girlfriend (wife now) and her brother accompanyed me even though they were not hunting. I had hunted in this remote forest several times before. We had to take my 4 wheel drive Bronco back some very poor trails and then we put my 12 foot aluminum rowboat that we cartopped, into a long stip mine pond. We went to the end of that lake and then hiked up into a beautiful hardwood forest. It was a beautiful fall day and we had not been in the woods long when we all heard a sound that was just like someone gave one mighty blow on a big base tuba. We all heard the same thing. We heard this sound numerous times at approx. 15 to 30 minute intervals all evening. It was not coming from the same place, it moved around but stayed out of sight. Near dark we returned to the boat and then to the truck and we 4 wheeled back to campground"K" where my small camping trailer was parked. We built a fire and was roasting weiners after dark when the same sound started just across the lake from us. This was the same direction that the woods was from us. I heard this sound at intervals all night, it quit sometime before daylight. We were mystified as to what this sound could possibly be. When we got home the next day there was a big article in our local newspaper "The Canton Repository" , about a great flurry of Bigfoot sightings in an area approx. 20 miles southwest of our encounter area. The theory offered in the article was that this was a natural migration route from the pacific northwest to the Applachian mountains and the volcanic activity at Mt. St. Helens was forcing some kind of a migration through this area. My brother is a big foot research fan and he told me they have been known to make this sound. I love your show, please keep up the good work.
