Location: Close to the highway and town, it is a rural area, but it has creeks and high bluffs, there are numerous caves and areas that are dense with trees.

REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: I was coming home alone, it was late around 2-3 in the morning. I was tired, so I didn't really pay attention to the night sounds. I lived here most of my life and have no reason to think of looking around, we have close neighbors and the highway is right next to our driveway, we also have a creek next to the backyard with a stream that leads into the Missouri river, which is located around three miles to the east of my residence.

I was just getting out of my car when I heard something that seemed to be right close by, it sounded like a woman talking or mumbling, so I stopped short and watched the area where I heard it coming from. I felt a feeling of being watched, so I kept walking to the front door. It would make that noise again and when I stopped it would become quiet again.

There was a breeze blowing and I smelled something that I can't describe very well. It isn't anything familiar to my senses. Maybe I could say it was near the odor of how livestock smell, like cows or horses, yet there isn't any near my home. It also had a musky smell like an attic, something old and damp.

I stood by my doorway and listened for about 5 minutes. I never heard it again.

Later, I was in bed and was again disturbed by the same sound it was right outside my window. The curtain was blowing and I just froze, since my bed is right by this window. It was within reaching distance. I could hear a deep breathing and it even was holding its breath when it heard the cat jump off the bed and run. It seemed like it was gone but the smell was overpowering, and then it breathed again.

I couldn't bring myself to look until I heard it pushing on the screen like it was trying to open it or push it in. Then it kind of hit the wall outside and walked to the next window on the south side of my bedroom. I was starting to think of calling the police, when its outline was in the window. It was tall and massive and had broad shoulders. I couldn't see his head, it was too high up, it sort of leaned down and looked at an angle, then it breathed loudly and hit the house with such force that the pictures fell off the wall. It stopped and walked off back towards the creek.

I finally got up and found that the sound woke up all the other house members. We all listened and were shaken to hear the loud holler. It isn't really a scream as it is a howl - it was deep but tapered off into a higher pitch like a woman. It did this for a few more times.

My oldest daughter said that she could see it standing upright like a person but it was hard to say how tall, maybe around 6'7. She said it had hair on it, she was able to see it better from her window view. I did see that it had something blowing on it, which later I figured it was long hair. The smell was gone and later we all heard the neighbor dogs barking and soon the neighbors dogs further down the road barked.

I never really doubted their existence as I seen things like this as a child but I never was this close to one before.

My daughter was chased by one more recently, probably the same one. It was close to the house again. We also notice that things are moved around or just missing like a garden hose was up in a cotton wood tree about 9 feet in the air. My daughter will submit her own account..
