The sound came from the direction of Paulina Peak.
Description of event: My Dad, his cousin and I were sitting around a campfire at our cabin in La Pine. It was a quiet night. We all heard a screeching and howling combination echoing from the Paulina Recreation area. It continued off and on for about an hour.
