Description of event: My wife and I had been boating and went onshore to collect pinecones. We were there for about 15 minutes when something snapped, it sounded like a large stick 30 to 50 feet away from us. I made a bird call and whatever was in the woods smacked a tree three times very loud and forceful. We got back into the boat and pushed away from the shore. I made the bird call again and something started violently shaking a tree until it snapped and slammed it onto the ground. We left.
