This took place on Fluein Crk 3 1/2 miles on Moon Crk Rd in Oct of 1978.
Description of event: This happened to a very dear friend of mine who passed on in 1999 in a logging accident. I will call him Alan. Well Alan and his family, wife and 2 young kids were hunting on a old logging spur in the Moon Creek area when about 4:30 in the afternoon they got their pickup stuck on a badly rutted road. After about 3 hours of trying to get the truck free they decided to walk out and get help. Along about dark they reached the mainline of Moon Creek Road and started walking down the mountain toward Fairview. Alan said that's when the trouble started. At first they heard what sounded like something heavy walking in back of them just barely out of eye sight. After about 20 minutes a sound of something going from a growl to a hair-raising scream started behind them. Alan got very scared for his family as his wife and kids were scared beyond reason. Alan told the family to keep moving on down the road. Alan had no flashlight or light with him. He said that from time to time he got a glimpse of what was following them. In several places where the trees were away from the road enough he got a glimpse of a massive figure looming behind them in the moonlight. Whatever it was it was walking on two legs. He had his 30 30 with him and told me he didn't fire on it because it never came any closer than 40 feet or so to them. He said it was making the brush crack and could hear heavy breathing from it. Alan said it had to be over 700 lbs. and 9 feet in height, judging from the bank beside it. It followed them for at least 2 miles or so until it turned and went over a steep bluff. They could hear it breaking brush as it left. They finally reached the main road and caught a ride home. The next day a neighbor and he went back to the stuck truck. Alan said that there were weird tracks all over by the truck. He said they were huge barefoot humanlike tracks only much larger than a man could make. There alongside the truck something had tossed out the cooler and took out the contents and throwed stuff all around the truck. I knew Alan since we were boys and never knew him to ever tell a lie to me. I believe this happened to them the way it's told here.
